With a major new campus now in the heart of Tamworth, South Staffordshire College offers local employers much more than a route to recruiting an apprentice. Businesses can work with the College to recruit new talent, upskill existing employees, offer work experience and T Level industry placements, and access short courses and free online Level 2 CPD.

For smaller employers, there could be significant savings too. The College states that businesses with fewer than 50 employees can have apprenticeship training fully funded for apprentices aged 16–21, while employers taking on eligible 16–18-year-olds can also receive a £1,000 incentive.

Perhaps most interestingly, local businesses can also help shape the skills being taught. Through the College's Skills Advisory Panels, employers can share what their industries actually need and help ensure course content reflects current workplace requirements – creating a stronger pipeline of appropriately skilled local talent.
